During the last days people have been talking a lot about the water supply emergency. As is known, water is a primary resource not only for man but also for the environment and for all the living beings that live on the Earth. Without water life does not exist! And it is for this reason that it is very important to avoid any source of waste. Water is an essential factor of production in agriculture. Plants absorb it in their biomass and release it into the atmosphere by transpiration, a process that positively affects microclimatic conditions. They are capable of converting “blue” water into “green” water captured in the biomass. An indispensable task that water accomplishes is to allow the transport of nourishment along the plant organs of the plant, through circulation and to keep the vital functions of the cells active, allowing their reproduction and growth.
The Clone Success Ranunculus is a delicate and elegant flower, ready to enrich gardens and terraces and which prefers soft soils, rich in organic matter and well drained. The bulbs, which are supplied to us by the Biancheri and Brea companies, can be grown as cut flowers in the ground, but nothing prevents you from creating colourful vases with this plant with vivid and brilliant colours. Before planting the bulbs in the ground, just in this period the employees of La Marca Flowers, carry out the vernalization of the bulbs; it is nothing more than a period spent in the cold. This process is used for the bulb to flower in a natural season. Deprived of this condition, the bulbs placed in the ground do not bloom or begin to sprout, they develop a stunted shoot destined to die, also causing the loss of the underground organ.
The main vernalization technique is the one in the regrigerator, the one we use here at the La Marca Flowers. The bulbs get placed in plastic bags and are constantly monitored and irrigated every two or three days, thus preventing dehydration.
At the end of the vernalization period, after about a month of cold, they are ready to be planted in soil rich in oganic substances and well drained.
